Certified Copy by Document Custodian

While Colorado Notaries cannot directly certify copies of public records, we notarize the Document Custodian Affidavit to create legally recognized copies of your essential documents.

The Affidavit Process

The notary’s role is to legally witness the document’s custodian (you) declaring that the copy presented is a true, correct, and complete reproduction of the original. This is the standard legal workaround for documents not recordable by the clerk.

Eligible Documents:

  • Non-Recordable Documents: Powers of Attorney (General/Medical).
  • Personal Legal Records: Wills, Trusts, and Codicils.
  • Academic Credentials: Diplomas, Transcripts, & Certifications.
  • Financial Statements: Bank records, brokerage, and tax forms.
